Help me find mislaid gift voucher

I'm going through a very difficult time and a few days ago received a card containing an M&S gift card. I've picked out a dress on the website but I can't find the gift card anywhere (the card is out on a shelf so the gift card definitely isn't still inside it). What have I done with it?

Maybe check the bin in case you threw it out with the envelope

In the pocket of whatever you were wearing when you opened the card?

Yes in the envelope, or in your purse for safety?

I would have put it in my wallet or handbag so I didn’t forget to take it by when shopping.

If you've a small child, check that it's not been posted under a rarely used door or in a rarely used drawer.

Thanks for the suggestions, I've tried them all and searched high and low but still haven't found it. The house is reasonably tidy so it shouldn't be buried under stuff. The DC are neither young enough to hide it nor old enough to spend it. No one else has been in the house. I don't get how it could just disappear.

Did u get other gift vouchers, or a gift bag, and put them altogether?

Inside or under some other papers/magazines, a book?
How frustrating! This kind of thing happens to me often. Retrace where you were sitting and what you were wearing when you opened the card, and what you did afterwards.

Is it in a zipped section in your handbag? I have such a section I keep my passport in if I need to show it for ID. Or

Is it in the same place you keep your debit/credit card?
