Flipflops - Not looking forward to the colder weather

I am a die hard with my flipflops. Still wearing now and will continue to until it's too cold to do so. Well in work anyway. Constantly on my feet at home. I don't like the closed in feeling going back into shoes/boots and now face the task of having to find footwear I will be comfortable in for work. I wear trousers and I don't like the look of trainers/skechers with them. Personal for me. Not judging anyone that does.

What are you asking?

Iliketulips · 05/09/2023 14:31

Would Boots feel a bit looser on your feet?

MollsDolls · 05/09/2023 14:49

Meant to ask does anyone else feel the same?

I bought a pair last year and wore them twice. 😂

Oh I am so with you, I'm a massive flip flop/Birkenstock fan and hate the winter faff of having to take a minute to put your shoes on/the closed in feeling. It's not sensory or anything, just a preference - I know exactly what you mean!

Sulusu · 05/09/2023 14:51

I know what you mean and have been known to go out in winter in crocs and socks, much to the disgust of my family 😂

Nagado · 05/09/2023 14:53

Do you work indoors? If so, I’d just get a cheap pair of trainers or ballet pumps (in dry weather) to wear to and from, and wear flip flops once I arrived.

If you need coverage from the weather, would buying some boots in a larger size help you feel less enclosed? Open toed shoes would be my next suggestion but that obviously won’t be great when it’s raining or snowing.

You can dispense with the socks now, they can now be bought with a fleece lining, which I’m sure will delight your family 😂

Have you ever tried barefoot type shoes? Thin bendy sole, no arch support, wider toe box - much less 'shoe'-feeling than most shoes. Might be closer to the flip flop feeling maybe?

Aw I replied to the wrong post. Sorry for that quote.

Fur lined crocs sound like a great idea! (Especially to annoy my family). 😃
