London Victoria - help me find this stationary shop!

I was in Victoria train station last year, having walked through from the coach station. There was a stationary shop on my left hand side which sold the most beautiful items but I can't find the name of the shop! It had an upstairs, and it wasn't Neon Sheep or WH Smith, it was like a Paperchase but I don't think it was.

Can anyone help?!

Was it Shepherds in Pimlico? They sell gorgeous specialist paper for bookbinding and so on.

GertrudeJekyllAndHyde · 05/09/2023 09:56

Sorry, I might have misunderstood. Was it in the station itself? There was a Scribbler just outside the station, although I’m not sure whether it’s still there.

Excitedannie · 05/09/2023 09:57

No it was in the actual train station - Victoria Place I think it's called

There was definitely a Paperchase in Victoria Station which had an upstairs! It might have been that. (I know you said not, but I can't think of anything else actually inside the station that fits the description.)

Needmorelego · 05/09/2023 10:15

I possibly know the one you mean. There was a Paperchase near the escalators - on station level not upstairs.
It's not Paperchase anymore (cos they went bust) but it's now a very similar shop.
No idea of it's name.....will have a Google cos I am curious now.
But you said last year...it was still Paperchase then.
Hold on ....was it upstairs by Claire's/Neon Sheep etc or downstairs in the station?

Countmeout · 05/09/2023 10:20

Our Paperchase has turned into Mooch.

Iwouldlikesomecake · 05/09/2023 10:22

If it was in the station walking through from the coach station on your left it would have been paperchase. Because you come in the entrance on the side by the high number platforms and turn left and paperchase was on your left just past Mi Casa burrito and the news stand.

not that I’m in Victoria too much 🤣

It’s not paperchase any more but I think it’s another stationery shop now?

Needmorelego · 05/09/2023 10:22

@Excitedannie I googled.....
The old Paperchase in Victoria Station is now called Postmark.
But if you mean the one that was upstairs next to Neon Sheep (that was very similar to Neon Sheep) I can't remember what that was called.

LilyRose88 · 05/09/2023 10:22

As previous posters have said, Paperchase was in Victoria station itself on the concourse but not in the Victoria Place shopping arcade. It did have an upstairs too, and it sold really nice stationery. Paperchase sadly went into liquidation but there is a new stationery shop in its place called Postmark. I haven't been in it so I don't know how it compares to Paperchase.

SpikyHatePotato · 05/09/2023 10:26

If it's stationary, it should be quite easy to find. It's those roaming shops that you have to chase after Grin

(Sorry).

I havent been upstairs in Victoria in ages despite going through the station about once a week.

Was it called Typo? There's a few of those around, though I wouldn't call their stationery particularly beautiful

LadyOfTheCanyon · 05/09/2023 10:36

Otherwise as PP says it was probably Shepherds.

I was thinking the same thing - but has it moved?

Really cross you said this before I could but Grin

Needmorelego · 05/09/2023 10:50

@Excitedannie yay - I had the correct shop 🙂
I am hoping they will be selling the Paperchase style over the top Christmas tree decorations....I loved those.

Clymene · 05/09/2023 10:52

I don't know why people think taking the piss out of someone else's spelling is funny. It just makes you look like a bit of a cunt to be honest.

Haha I'm in bed recovering from an emergency operation so it made me laugh to be honest 😂. I didn't have my Oxford Dictionary to hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

OP posts:
Clymene · 05/09/2023 11:42

I'm glad it made you laugh @Excitedannie (and hope you recover soon) Flowers

But that's not really the point - a lot of people can't spell because they're got dyslexia or English as a second language or have a learning disability.

It's not okay to take the piss.

Excitedannie · 05/09/2023 12:11

Yes you're absolutely right. I'm not dyslexic but there are a couple of words I can NEVER spell correctly - this is one of them and calender is another!!!!

OP posts:
EffortlessDesmond · 05/09/2023 13:42

I enjoyed the pun, and laughed out loud! And @Clymene, it would be a very rare dyslexic person who saw the joke! Neither my DH nor DS would notice it.

StillSmallVoice · 05/09/2023 15:32

I was taught at school that stationery, as in paper, has an E for 'envelope' in the middle. Haven't had a problem with that spelling since.
