How to improve my handwriting?

My handwriting has never been great - but it doesn't look like an adults handwriting. In fact it's hideous! Does anyone have any tips of tricks to improve it? It's embarrassing!

Practice.

Find handwriting that you like and copy it.

Practice. Then practice some more.

What do you do that anyone sees your handwriting in this day and age?

I found my handwriting improved when I was studying and taking notes every day. Maybe you could start a journal

Me too! I even had teachers make fun of me in school. I wish they had taught penmanship instead 🙄 You can buy handwriting workbooks meant for kids! I got some for my daughter and I use them too.

Take two lines to write your capitals and one whole line to write your smaller letters using the whole line below for your hangers. Then put a single line space between each line of writing. And then practice.

Use audiobooks or the radio to take dictation. ”The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog” uses every letter in the alphabet.

DM and DH both had remediation of their handwriting. DB should have.

When I was a kid they had exercise books specifically designed for finessing handwriting. They had the two lines in the middle with a dotted line above and below to tidy up the tall letters (like t, h & l) and the ones that drop below (like p & q) and find a script you like and practice every day. You can find websites with free printable practice sheets these days. I would make multiple copies (stick to one kind of script) and practice every day.
