Current passport renewal times?

Just sent off for my new passport today after applying online - it has expired last year. I sent the old passport and marriage certificate (name change) by first class tracked today.

For those who have renewed passport recently how long did it take? The website says to allow 10 weeks but know in reality it's often nowhere near that.

They received my old passport on 23 August (posted tracked on 21st), the new passport was printed on 30th and I received it on 31st. It was a child's renewal.

I renewed two passports last year (mine and DD3's). DD3 was renewing from a child's passport to her first adult one.

Both were back in under two weeks despite dire predictions in the media even then.

I renewed my passport last month. Had my new one in 13 days, and I also had a name change.

I just did DDs. Applied online on 18th August, they messaged to say they received the old one on 22nd and we received the new one on 30th

I received my new passport today, so exactly 10 days after sending it off. (Just in case anyone else sees the thread in the near future and was wondering).

I sent my child's renewal off on 1 September. New passport arrived 13 Sept. So 12 days.
