thank you for DIY

DF is doing a big DIY job for me (think several days worth), as he is retired, me and DH work full time, and the builder was asking an absolute fortune! What can I give him to say thank you? He won't take any money from me :-(

I would take him out for a nice meal or something along those lines

Get him nice cake, biscuits and his favourite tea for while he is working and then a nice bottle of his fav drink?

As you're saving 'an absolute fortune', something special.
A really nice multi tool - snap on etc (check he doesn't already have a favorite one)
A good leatherman
If he's a gardener; fiskars secateurs or long handled loppers
Or a really nice plant/tree possibly in good pot - voucher to pick his own.
If he's a car driver; a compact jump starter if he doesn't already have one.
A one off experience that he'd never buy himself
