Which job would you choose?

Simply as the title says really....

Job 1: PT shift work anytime between 6am-10pm, it means working most weekends (I get one weekend off in 6), 6.5 weeks holiday a year (helpful for school holidays), I can do 75% of school runs for my 5 year old, have a bit of time to myself during the week to sort house etc. Not keen on all the weekend working, feel like I don't see child much when they are at school.

Job 2: Full time, extra £600pm wages, office hours, every weekend/Bank Holiday off, probably wouldn't be able to do any school runs ever but have someone else in place to do them, home every evening, standard 5.6 weeks holiday a year, might make school holidays a bit more difficult to juggle, no chance of it being WFH.

Both same commuting time. Same pension set up. The extra money isn't imperative to our finances but would be nice.

What would you pick? Any advice please?

Job 2.

School runs not as important as quality weekend family time and the extra £600 will help you to do fun things as well.

Job 2, predictable working hours, weekends free and extra money. I’ve done shift work and the changing hours were a killer.

Job 2 for sure. I'd hate to work weekends with DC at school. You'll not see them nearly as much and I don't think the extra weeks holiday makes up for that.

Job 2.

Thanks for everyone's thoughts so far, the extra holiday time definitely wouldn't make up for the weekends! I'm actually still waiting to be offered job 2 so fingers crossed it will happen.

Job 2 I've been working one weekend day for the last two years with teenagers and am looking to change. Even my teens have said that they have missed me and feel that they hardly see me.

Full time. You know where you are and can get a good routine
