I'm looking for ideas for experiences that might inject a little excitement into my autumn now summer's ending. I've got a few days leave at the end of September and would love to escape to learn something new, push myself, provide a counterpoint to the working/parenting/adulting humdrum.

I like learning new skills, am averagely fit but not massively sporty, could do a few days / overnights. Current hobbies are walking, spinning, cooking, and I guess self-development (?) - hence the post. I could just take a trip somewhere adventurous but would prefer something with a bit of structure.

Has anyone done / planned anything new and interesting that helped you step off the hamster wheel and see things in a new way?

Learn bellydance! I'm not joking, started classes to get me out of a rut over a decade ago and never looked back.

I’ve just started Ariel yoga - love it, took me back to being a kid again, especially the handstands!

also just started ballroom dancing classes, learning cha-cha and waltz first. Great teacher, small friendly class near me. Always wanted to learn
