Anyone successfully found children’s bedding in SUPER KING size?

Toy Story specifically!

We’ve moved into a rental property which came furnished and my 4 year old son is now sleeping in a super king size bed 😬

Unsurprisingly, I haven’t managed to find Toy Story duvet covers in that size…any ideas anyone??

Just buy a single or double one for him, he really doesn’t need a super king duvet!!!

YellowChrysnthemum · 03/09/2023 21:01

They don't need a super kind duvet just because that's the mattress size - just give them a single one. They'll be fine

mypugstoplooking · 03/09/2023 21:02

A super king is 2 single beds size wise, just get him a single duvet cover. If you feel it looks odd he could have one plain single and one Toy Story one. My parents had 2 duvets on one bed because my Dad is a duvet thief.

Id just get plain white ones and a toy story blanket. I was never keen on poly cotton duvets so all the dc had white cotton.

ManchesterGirl2 · 03/09/2023 21:07

Just get a normal sized duvet. Otherwise you are making a tonne of laundry for yourself 😁

Amazon have super size Toy Story which will cover bed £50

NeedSomeWisdom · 03/09/2023 21:14

@Matilda1981 No he really doesn’t 😂 But the bed came with (new) duvet/pillows etc so I thought I may as well use it!!

@Pleaseme i don’t like poly for myself but the one upside is it dries very quickly and no ironing 😅

@ManchesterGirl2 the washing 😭 Both DC had toddlers beds at old house and was so easy to pop them in the wash. Now it is a serious undertaking to change them.

White sheets and a blanket may be the best option I think.

You'll find nice colourful abstract type designs which you could match to a colour scheme, and maybe some of the "kid" interests that are marketed at adults like Marvel or Pokémon or Disney or video games or space. Primark often have things like this or supermarkets.

Other than that, yes plain colours plus a blanket is a good idea. Or a smaller duvet and cover. Or try the mass market cheap options like eBay, Amazon, AliExpress, temu. But expect them to be poor quality. We got DS2 a purple galaxy duvet cover set from Amazon and it's so annoyingly staticy and the duvet constantly slips out of place - I had thought how bad can a duvet cover be? It's annoying. And the zip broke.

I got rid of our super king sized duvet because it was such a pain in the arse to change it and wash it. It's really worth considering before you splash out a load of money on cover sets for it. Single bedding is much cheaper and you will probably spend less on 2x single bedding sets + basic single duvet compared to 2x super king bedding sets plus blankets or in specific colour scheme.

It will be cheaper in the long run to buy a single duvet and cover.

hauntedvagina · 03/09/2023 21:31

I have a super king bed and a small child. I know how often my child wets the bed and I know what an absolute arse it is to change the bedding on a super king. There's no way I'd be wanting to do that on an unplanned basis!

I'd honestly just get a standard double duvet. You'll get one with a Toy Story pattern and will be much easier to wash and change regularly. I've found M&S the best for super king fitted sheets.

You can get a Toy Story fleece throw from Asda for £8 to put over a cheap plain duvet cover if you want to use the large duvet

Shopper727 · 03/09/2023 21:42

Second getting a fleece and some cushions cheap from Asda or similar pop some soft toys on bed and sorted or just 2 singles on the bed?

saraclara · 03/09/2023 21:46

In much of Europe it's normal to have two single duvets on a double/king/super king bed. It's a reat idea that foils partners stealing the duvet!

So that, or a toy story/whatever throw or fleece.

SummerInSun · 03/09/2023 21:49

You could get Toy Story pillow cases and maybe a throw cushion or two to put on a plain coloured matching duvet cover eg navy?
