Where did you live after your marriage/ relationship broke up?

Just wanting to know where you lived when your marriage/relationship broke up?

Did you stay in the family home? Or go into Council Housing or private rent or did you get a solo mortgage and buy your own place?
For context, I'm early 40s and in private rent, with a young child and just exploring my options and seeing what other women have done.

I went back to live with my mum for a couple of months, then I rented while we sold the house, then I bought a small house myself. I remarried and I kept the small house of bought and rent it out.

I was never married to exdp and the house was soley in his name so he kept it.

I went to stay with my mum for a couple of months and now private rent.

I'm considerably poorer but also have a considerably more happy life now
