Did the Barbie movie make you cry?

I saw it yesterday and I absolutely loved it.

The ending made me very emotional and I definitely wasn’t the only one in the cinema crying.

I felt like I could really relate to the whole film - life isn’t perfect, there’s lots of change, stereotypical Barbie not feeling like she is good at anything (pretty much how I feel most of the time).

Did anyone else find it emotional?

No. It made me cringe.

It could've been an entertaining film if they'd kept it fluffy rather than preachy.

No it made me laugh a lot! It was good, my teen DD cried who never cries at anything.

I think the reels of childhood memories of daughters with mums was what tipped me over . But then I cry at lots of films.

No. I didn't even think there was a part that people would cry at, to be honest. America Ferrera's speech about being a woman certainly rang true though.

Filled up a few times but not sobs. Lots of laughs, and times when I thought YESS! I think it's brilliant.

It depressed me. Barbie symbolised all we were meant to be but it turns out it was just a 1979's/80's pipe dream.

I loved it, and I cried at the mother and daughter bits.

America Ferrara's speech is very true but I found it a bit clunky in the movie so it didn't particularly get to me.

Didn’t find it funny either.
I was really frustrated with the movie, after reading how feminist and never-been-a-movie-like-this, I really thought it would be something else.
And the rage some men had about this mivie, I really thought I was going to be a middle finger to the patriarchy and men, women going their own way.
It was really dissapointing and the speech was just pretty shallow stuff, ie. wearing make-up, being thin and being a mother.
What’s feminist about that?

No I didn't and I was trying to work out which part everyone was saying they cried about at the end. I saw it recently so shouldn't have listened to all the hype as I was a bit underwhelmed.
