Green dress for funeral

I have a funeral next week. Dress code is "green" (deceaseds favourite colour). Advised of comfort over formality, again as per deceaseds wishes.

I'm a size 14, pear shaped. No real budget depending on the dress. I'm blonde, 5ft 7 and mid 30s.

Suggestions please!

Good that sounds fab. Well done in the weight loss front.

Do most still buy new clothes? The 2nd hand area is buoyant. True recycling in action.

In this situation specifically I need something that I can guarantee will arrive by the time I need it, and be able to send back if it doesn't fit.

However I almost exclusively buy new anyway. But I buy very rarely and good quality and keep them for years- until they're unwearable. I don't do fast fashion, I've never bought from boohoo, ASOS and that sort of place. I will occasionally buy from charity shops, I don't like buying from eBay and vinted as I can't return stuff that doesn't fit and I find being pear shaped can make buying clothes difficult.

I did buy all my maternity clothes second hand, and almost all my kids stuff is second hand, so I'm not opposed to it, I just don't find it works well for me.

Op given you have lost weight etc I'd by black skirt / trousers and a green top.

Easier to buy than a dress and you know you'll definitely need black trousers / skirt at some point. Rather than a green dress that may or may not ever be used again

You could search Vinted by colour. Some new and preloved bargains. I sell on if they don't fit but have found some new styles and quality brands.

I thought I'd update.

I bought the ghost dress and the fatface dress - the ghost dress is gorgeous and very flattering. It's sort of a WhatsApp green colour though, which initially put me off but my husband was blown away by me in it, a reaction I've not seen for a while, so I've kept it. I wouldn't say it's suitable for a funeral though. I've also just ordered it in the size down.

The fatface dress is really nice I'll wear this to the funeral. It's less dressy. I could easily wear it to work or a restaurant. It's very comfortable and will be a good autumn through to late spring dress- thick tights and boots for winter, off the shoulder and sandals for warm weather.

Thanks all.

If you have a green accessory just wear that with something you already have. I’ve found most people just have a pop of a requested colour rather than a whole dress etc.
