A toasted ham and cheese sandwich with a thin layer of mayonnaise? It's made with eggy bread.

Yes it was delicious.

Depends on the ham, cheese, bread, Mayo, and quantities of each.

YesItsMeIDontCare · 02/09/2023 14:07

M&S thick white bread, 2 slices
Wafer thin ham, 3 slices
Mature Cheddar, thick layer
Egginess, 1 egg

Small amount of butter in pan.

About 600

Put them in 'my fitness pal'. You can scan the barcodes of the products.

Bookish88 · 02/09/2023 14:10

I'd estimate 600-700.

Thank you very much @Bookish88 & @WhatCameFirstTheChickenOrTheDickhead

I was just curious 'cause my tastebuds told me I needed another one and my stomach told me a needed a lie down 😂

@MarshyMcMarshFace - less healthy bread, probably slightly less ham and mayo. Yes it was cooked in a small amount of butter to stop it sticking. Even so, if the Waitrose one is 475 then the the 600 mentioned by PPs sounds pretty close.

It was bloody lovely though. Even more so (possibly) because DH cooked it 😁

No idea but did you make it in a sandwich toaster?? I like the idea of an eggy bread toastie but only if I can do it in the machine!

OldTinHat · 02/09/2023 14:28

Oh, just saw you mentioned a pan.

Please can you send your DH to mine to make me one quick?!

YesItsMeIDontCare · 02/09/2023 14:38

@OldTinHat - The eggy bread might be a bit soggy for a sandwich toaster unfortunately. Looking at the state of the pan I'm not sure it would work 😔

800-1000 cals

somethinghastochangesoon · 02/09/2023 14:45

I reckon about 800 also. If it was a lot of cheese and butter also will add a good few

notprincehamlet · 02/09/2023 16:18

It transcends tawdry metrics (although such abstruse musings might explain why I can't get my jeans to fasten)

coloursquare · 03/09/2023 12:23

Loads! I reckon about 800-900

coloursquare · 03/09/2023 12:25

The bread is 125 calories per slice, to start you off. Depends how much cheddar and butter!

coloursquare · 03/09/2023 12:27

100 for the egg and wafer thin ham

Blarn · 03/09/2023 12:27

That sandwich sound immense. I know what I am having for lunch tomorrow! I assume it had to be cooked quite slowly to stop it burning before the cheese melted?

YesItsMeIDontCare · 03/09/2023 13:28

@Blarn - cooked on a low heat, yes. It came out with a teeny bit of burn, but that just added flavour 😁

I've been promised another one next weekend 👍🏻
