About 10 days ago I rang the usual number to rebook my depo (it's due on Monday), and the automated AI voice said they'd moved to an online system for this service, and gave me a URL. It then ended the call automatically.
When I registered, you click the service you want, and your local clinic, and it shows you all available appointments. Easy right? Sure, until you click on ANY of the appointments and it directs you to a clinic 25 miles away, not the local one.
There are 7 clinics in my trust. It appears only 2 of those actually have appointments available to book. The system must be fairly new (as it wasn't mentioned in June when I last had my top up), and I can only assume they've launched it prematurely - because there are zero appointments for any of the other 5 clinics. Like they just haven't uploaded any, rather than none left iyswim. I've gone as far ahead as October and can only find appointments for these two clinics.
I rang my GP instead, and they pointed me to the local clinic
They won't do it because, in their mind, there is a service literally a 10 min walk up the road from them who will do it
I live in the centre of one of the two main cities in the county, but apparently there's no way to locally get the depo right now. I don't drive, and the public transport to either of the other clinics means 2 hours and more than one bus/train each way.
So I'm out of ideas. Can anyone think of something I haven't thought of? Has anyone else come across this?
