Would you do it, as a one off?

If you were the person in your couple to cook all meals.
You and your partner went grocery shopping late and came at 9pm.
Your partner then told you they were doing an activity with one of their friends online/on the phone and to wait to make dinner as they can't eat and do that activity at the same time.
They finished at midnight and still expected you to make dinner.
Would you say yes or no as a one off?

What?! No chance!

Whoknowswhatanymore · 02/09/2023 00:11

Absolutely not. I would be in bed by that point! Having made sure I’d got myself something nice to eat earlier.

OrangeySnicket · 02/09/2023 00:11

Hard nope

StuffLoriThangs · 02/09/2023 00:12

No. It turns into a “suit yourself night”.

and if it were me, I’d be in bed by midnight after waiting for them to finish their a activity.

bet it’s fantasy football

PickAPark · 02/09/2023 00:13

I hope you have eaten OP. I might, at most, cook myself something and make enough for the other person to have later.

But no way would I hang on until past midnight to eat!

Screamingabdabz · 02/09/2023 00:15

No - sorry you know where the cereal, toaster, frozen pizzas and takeaway menus are.

Why is the cooking always one person then? That should be outlawed as modern day slavery.

Kleptronic · 02/09/2023 00:16

No.

WhateverUsernameWillDo · 02/09/2023 00:17

Of course not. He can get himself something together at that time. I'll be in bed sleeping.

Riverlee · 02/09/2023 00:18

No.

TwigTheWonderKid · 02/09/2023 00:19

😆No, of course not!

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 02/09/2023 00:21

No. I'd probably cook for us both and leave a portion for the other person to heat up, but I wouldn't want to be cooking and eating past midnight.

If I was feeling particularly kind and was still up I'd heat it so it was ready for when they'd finished their activity. I would still have eaten earlier though.

Quartz2208 · 02/09/2023 00:22

I would cook something that was easy to reheat eat mine and leave theirs

DresdenDoll · 02/09/2023 00:24

Absolutely not! They can reheat theirs later.

RJnomore1 · 02/09/2023 00:25

Not a hood in hell

Ponderingwindow · 02/09/2023 00:26

No i wouldn’t cook dinner at midnight. I wouldn’t have agreed to wait in the first place. If I’m hungry, I’m eating.

TheWayoftheLeaf · 02/09/2023 00:26

I'd make it at the same time as mine and if they wanted it later they can microwave it... that's what we usually do.

DragonDoor · 02/09/2023 00:26

Definitely not.

It’s one thing to cook a meal that can later be reheated, but it’s a completely different scenario to begin cooking at night time to feed someone else

TheWayoftheLeaf · 02/09/2023 00:26

And no I would t cook at 00am. I'd be in bed. They can reheat food or fuck odd.

NuffSaidSam · 02/09/2023 00:28

No, I'd cook two portions of a meal that can be reheated and they can warm theirs up later.

dearanon · 02/09/2023 00:29

Can you cook dinner and leave theirs on a plate to reheat later?

HeadacheEarthquake · 02/09/2023 00:30

Nah, make yourself dinner and leave some he can eat it whenever

Or he can sort himself later ffs

pizzaHeart · 02/09/2023 00:32

The same.

WhateverMate · 02/09/2023 00:39

A.) No

B.) Why would one person in a couple cook all meals?

C.) Has the partner broken both hands and if so, how are they able to do the activity?

DelilahJane · 02/09/2023 00:44

In our house the conversation would be " I'm making xyz for dinner do you want some left over or will you be eating while your out or picking something up on your way home ?"

Oblahdeeoblahdoe · 02/09/2023 00:46

Are you a paid servant?
