Great nephew and his dad/stepmum.

Our nephew remarried to katie (not her name).
Harry already had 2 children Oscar 21 and Scarlet 18.
Harry and Katie now have 2 children Penelope and George.
Scarlet lives with her mum.
Oscar lived with his dad
Last week Oscar came home at midnight.
Katie decided that he shouldn't live there any more and told him he is not welcome. Harry stood and watched this didn't say a word.
Oscar was paying full board. And helped around the house.
There is no room at his mums as she has also remarried and had more children.
Oscar came to us until he can find a place to live.
Harry has never contacted Oscar to make sure he is OK.
Oscar is friendly and polite. Yes he comes in at midnight but never drunk or loud.
In fact is usually found either in the gym or a milk bar.

We feel that Katie has never wanted Oscar and scarlet.
But we are more disappointed in Harry in not caring for Oscar.
What father does that.

So neither parent wants him?

Have you spoken to either of them to get to the bottom of why or are you going purely on what he's telling you?

And WTF is a milk bar?

and breath

A milk bar is where you have smoothies etc.
Lots of youngsters don't drink alcohol.

Yes I've spoken to his real mum. Unfortunately she lives in a 3 bed house.
Room 1 is hers and husband.
Room 2 is scarlets and mum's daughter.
Room 3 is for mums twins.
No room for Oscar.

Oscar has been with us for over a week. Known him for his whole life and he is a good lad. Has a very good job works very hard. Polite and friendly.
Board is paid on time. Keeping his room tidy.
We don't care about him living with us it's his dad who is a disgrace.
What dad stands there while the stepmum tells him he isn't wanted anymore.

If you marry someone who already has children you embrace them as part of the family.

Harry's loyalty is to Katie.
You may wonder how anyone could treat their child that way, but many do.
Thankfully Oscar has you to be there for him while he becomes independent.

She kicked him out because he came in at midnight at 21 years old. Sounds a bit over the top to me. Are you sure you’re getting the full story? Have Katie and Oscar had issues in the past? I’m not saying Oscar is lying at all but surely there needs to be more to it than that.
As a parent absolutely no one would kick my children out of my house no matter what there age was.

Both parents are a disgrace here.

They could put him up on a sofa bed if either of them wanted him.

Have you spoken to Harry yet? What does he say about the background context? What does Oscar think about it all?

Soupsetscared · 02/09/2023 08:51

Harry was always a difficult person. Since Oscar left Harry hasn't been in touch.
Oscar has tried to phone him and he hasn't answered.
Oscar is disappointed in his dad. He darent go round because of Katie.
He has a couple of meals with his mum. He doesn't want to sleep on a sofa.
He is over 6ft.
He is going to look at a flat today we have told him there is no rush.
Just make sure it's affordable. Dh is going with him.

Poor Oscar, horribly let down by his parents. Are you able to keep him at your home? He sounds a very decent young man that needs some stability and foundation.
I'd be very disappointed any any family or friend who allowed their child to be kicked out like this.
