....so the window remains open... ?

LauderSyme · 01/09/2023 23:33

I had his cousin in my bath last week. Made me jump 😄

Allthecatsandcosyblankets · 01/09/2023 23:33

Exactly. Plus, he'll only be alive for a short while. Once he's found a female he will no longer bother you💀

pavillion1 · 01/09/2023 23:37

oh we had him in our sink last week glad to see he survived the plug hole

Justrolledmyeyesoutloud · 01/09/2023 23:41

JFC burn the house down now!!!

vodkaredbullgirl · 01/09/2023 23:42

It's sister is in my gas box.

ElizaWinter · 01/09/2023 23:42

Yikes 👀 🕷️ he is big leggy

Nejnej · 01/09/2023 23:43

So you're burning down the house, right?

If OP doesn't reply, we know she's been eaten

BlackJumpsuit · 01/09/2023 23:45

😂 not eaten and not yet burnt the house down!

After a moment's reflection (and after capturing the moment) I apologised to the glorious long legged beastie and flicked him back outside with a cloth.

Window is still open (I may never touch it again) so if it comes back, fair play to it 🫡

Btw it's 17° C here so he'll be ok!

Is that Wayne? I thought he was still under my bed after I inadvertently abducted him from his peaceful nap in the bath towel a couple of weeks ago.

gillefc82 · 01/09/2023 23:55

We had his older, bigger brother at our house earlier this week. DH and I were getting ‘frisky’ on the couch. Next thing I know, DH (who was behind me at the time 😉) is throwing himself off onto the floor to my left and pushing me to the right. Turns out he spotted the massive voyeuristic beastie perched on the arm of the couch next to him enjoying the show and bravely made sure I was between him and the spider.

Our 8-legged friend disappeared pretty quickly and we haven’t seen him since, but we’ve been more than a little paranoid and I’ve told DH the action stays in the bedroom until I’m sure we won’t have a return visit! 😂

hmc39 · 01/09/2023 23:58

One of its family members was on my daughters curtain the other week.. my mum said she'd never seen such a big spider inside before!

Susuwatariandkodama · 02/09/2023 00:06

We’ve had a steady stream of them for a good couple of weeks now! Downsides of living in the countryside, I threw about 6 or 7 out last week!

Ihateslugs · 02/09/2023 00:46

I’ll swap your spider for the slugs that slime into my bedroom at night! I live in a bungalow and they are coming from the void under the floor, I’ve seen them squeezing through the microscopic gap by the skirting board!

After trying every home remedy and commercial product, I’m currently sleeping with the bedroom light on all night wearing an eye mask! I hope that my understanding that slugs tend to come in during the dark is true!

Im not a fan of spiders but at least everyone gets them at this time of year but I seem to be the only person sleeping with slugs!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 02/09/2023 08:13

@Ihateslugs by house gets invaded by the slimy bastards as well. Hate it
That's the brother of the spider having a party in my DD's bedroom the other night that DH and I had to frantically capture and that went out the window

Thecomfortador · 02/09/2023 08:19

Our old house had a huge slug problem. After we moved it took a while to trust that they weren't coming in - I do relax now but would happily live without seeing another slug ever again. We've yet to see what sort of spiders inhabit this new house (again, huge, mutant spiders in last one. One horrifying moment when we saw one carrying a large moth on its back the greedy bastard. Genuinely thought it had evolved into a hideous new species).

Excitingnewusername · 02/09/2023 08:51

I rescued am identical spider from our bath last week, didn't put him outside and wished him well as long as he kept himself to himself.

Alas the cats put an end to our new room mate over night.
