Cost of NHS childbirth or private if not entitled in the UK?

If someone was coming from Europe, Ukraine to give birth over here and they weren’t entitled to NHS treatment, anyone know how much this would cost or how to find out? Initial research says the NHS can’t refuse care but bill you for it. Which is understandable. They wouldn’t be resident over here on a visa just coming to give birth. Or how much a complete midwife/private hospital birth costs if no NHS cover and is that only available in London?

NHS costs will vary based on the level of care needed, but for a straightforward midwife-led pregnancy with no complications, no extra care required etc, you are probably looking at around £5k minimum. Top end private care in London can be up to £20k, I'm not sure about availability of private outside of London, I would imagine it is quite limited.

Thanks all for the info, that’s really helpful I will have a look at the links. NHS care and paying for it seems much more available than private thanks.
