Vinted dissatisfied customer

I've just started selling on vinted and already got a dissatisfied customer.

I sold a jade roller and gua sha. The buyer has just messaged me asking if I was aware that the gua sha is chipped. They've sent a picture and sure enough, there's a small chip. I didn't notice this myself.

What's the done thing here? Do I just offer a refund?

I buy and sell a fair bit on Vinted. Not had dissatisfied customers but I’ve been one. Bought an alleged new top that was stained round the collar. Seemed odd to me the seller wouldn’t have noticed or at least inspected prior to shipping.

I sent it back to them and that was it.

Questions to you are did you check it thoroughly before shipping? What condition did you say it was it? Was it securely wrapped? They could be trying it on, but equally we don’t know if you were a bit careless 🤷‍♀️

What’s the value etc.

I did check it before shipping, though obviously not thoroughly enough! The buyer did say that admittedly the chip is hard to spot, and they only noticed when they used it on the their face.

I did list it as in very good condition as I believed it to be so. It was securely wrapped as I sold it in the box it came in.

I sold it for £3.

Thanks for your response! I'm panicking a bit.

Is it really worth getting in a state over £3? Just refund her. I wouldn't say that if it was a higher value item and/or you thought they were trying to pull the wool over your eyes, but honestly £3 for peace of mind is cheap.

DefinitelyYouNotMe · 01/09/2023 13:46

At that price I’d just refund tbh and let them keep it. Annoying for you but you probably can’t resell so unless you want to keep it not worth all the shipping and hassle.

Just asking because some people (buyers as well) try it on. Sounds like an honest mistake all round.

CatatonicLadybug · 01/09/2023 13:46

It’s £3 so I would just refund. I’ve had to raise concerns a few times with sellers who didn’t describe things accurately and sometimes it’s obvious it was a lie, sometimes clearly an honest mistake. Just be kind and refund and then the buyer should give you feedback that is positive. Refund and move on. :)

Good point that it's not much money. Will refund. Thanks everyone for the help.

Just to clarify I'm not panicking over the money. I'm ND and new and unfamiliar social interactions give me anxiety so I went into freakout mode.

I'm also just disappointed because I was feeling really chuffed about my first few sales and already got a dissatisfied customer!

Will just have to be more thorough in checking the condition from now on.
