Oh my word, there must be an easier way to hand sew beads onto a garter?

I'm making a proper start on my outfit for The Eras Tour, tonight. Or at least, trying to!

I want to make my own version of Taylor Swift's Midnights garter but so far have managed to stitch a whole 6 beads in place 🙈 I'm really struggling to hold my garter taut, and sew the beads!

The best idea I've come up with is stretch it around...something to see if that makes it easier. Any other ideas I could try?

Ooh, actually, thinking about it - I could unpick the ends for now, sew the beads in place, and then re-stitch the ends to form the garter again!

I think I just needed to think "out loud"!
