Looking for inspiration for her… mostly series, Netflix, Disney, Amazon

Star Wars, Indiana Jones etc for films.
Netflix - all the lego series, Pokemon, last kids on earth, dragon prince, troll hunters, random films like chupa.

RejectedAgainandAgain · 31/08/2023 21:02

Is it cake and robot wars or whatever the Netflix version is called. Occasionally nature documentaries if I insist something less mind numbing! They liked the wild one where you have to choose what the guy does.

Onceuponaheartache · 31/08/2023 21:02

Dd just turned 10 has recently binge watched

Jonathan Creek
Guardians of the Galaxy (all 3 films)
Harry Potter
Secrets of Sulphur Springs

Something about upside down magic on Disney

Me and dd have been watching Buffy over the last few weeks. She loves it and I’m loving watching her watch it. That’s on Disney Plus

DeathMetalMum · 31/08/2023 21:22

Would I lie to you and Richard Osman's house of games. Both on Dave, I have seen most episodes of both more than once of not more. Also recently discovered Top Gear.

Kids stuff mostly scooby doo, I think she would watch scooby doo all day if she was allowed.

Other series, star wars stuff on disney plus and a lot of the age appropriate mavel series and Chris Hemsworth Limitless, again disney plus. Dd got v scared watching the first episode of Wednesday, so we didn't carry on with that.

geminiflanagan · 31/08/2023 21:23

Also Wednesday, battle bots and weirdly Your home made perfect!

magneticmoon · 31/08/2023 21:25

Everything from Octonauts to Wednesday, very eclectic!

Phineyj · 31/08/2023 21:38

We mainline entire CBBC series here.
Malory Towers.
The Dumping Ground and all its spinoffs.
Operation Ouch.
She also likes those CBBC documentary strands 'My Life' etc. Some of those are quite hard hitting (Syria etc) but educational I think.
There was a series 'Find Me in Paris' timetravelling ballet that I rather liked (I think it was Netflix) and we also both enjoyed A Series of Unfortunate Events and Just Add Water (Australian mermaids).
Plus whatever musical she's learning. Currently alternating Six and Les Miserables.

Phineyj · 31/08/2023 21:39

Oh and an absolutely frightful American cartoon set in a mad daycare called Dramarama. They would definitely fail Ofsted.

Justcashnosweets · 31/08/2023 21:42

Marvel films
Avatar 1 and 2
Ghosts
Free Rein
Wednesday
Stranger Things
Is it Cake?
Sam and Cat
Little Lunch

Phineyj · 31/08/2023 21:45

I wasn't sure about Wednesday when I read the descriptions, although all the classmates with older siblings have seen it.

Depends on your child of course.

Common Sense Media is a good place to get age appropriate recommendations.

StubbleTurnips · 31/08/2023 21:46

netflix wise: Is it cake / making fun / Izzy’s koala world
anything with Steve backshall
Spy in the Ocean on iplayer

Nemesias · 31/08/2023 21:49

Why do people recommend stranger things on these threads for children? BBFC have classified it as a 15!

SootspriteSearcher · 31/08/2023 21:54

Dd2 (11) really enjoys icarly, Sam & cat, victorious, Jessie, bunked, simpsons, secret life of the zoo if she's choosing TV herself.

Together we watch once upon a time, clarksons farm, top gear, dinosaurs, star trek voyager.

Yuja · 31/08/2023 21:54

Is it cake
Malory Towers
Series of Unfortunate Events
Harry Potter
This super annoying series called Little Lunch

RamblingRosieLee · 31/08/2023 22:15

Once upon a time

Gymmum82 · 31/08/2023 22:18

Dds current faves are Wednesday and a series of unfortunate events. She also likes watching people playing roblox
