Vinted-is this dodgy?

There is a jacket I'm keen on on vinted, listed at £22. I was deliberating over it when up popped the same pictures of the jacket, posted by another user but for £11. I asked the seller of the original listing about this and she said she only has one account. But the pics are identical and the description is too.. I'm not sure what the scam could be but seems odd to me, anyone seen this before?

I think there are scammers on Vinted who have been using pictures from genuine sellers wardrobes. Beware of users with random letters as usernames and no reviews

How would that work though? You have to say you've received the item and all is okay before the money is released to the seller

Yep sounds like a scam. Packages are sent out (sometimes via Royal Mail but can be other couriers) and are either empty or a completely random cheap item, it's then up to the buyer to raise a case and prove what happened to Vinted as the seller can prove a package was sent and received.

It's just a bit weird. I'm not sure if the original person is a scammer as she sent me a further pic that I asked for of the item.

Yes it's a scam.

I had to report another user when I found them listing items from my wardrobe at silly prices.

To be fair Vinted took action really quickly and the account was shut down within 30 mins of my report.

Suggest to report the account to Vinted if the original seller hasn't done so already.

Think this may be right, the original lister has pics of her in clothing on her listings that match her profile pic, the other seller had no reviews, no profile pic and all their other wardrobe items had different women in.

My copycat seller had no reviews and really random items (and sizes) for sale. So think clothes from size 8 to 18 and shoes from size 3 to 7.

Genuine sellers you'll see items from generally similar brands and sizes.

Interesting! I can't find the copycat listing now, assume it's been sold.

It might not have sold.

Vinted might have closed the account if the seller reported it.
