Breast lump/ clinic referral on a period?

So i have been to the drs with a breast lump and was told i would be referred to the breast clinic within two weeks. I had a call today to say my appointment is next week. I realised im going to be on a period at the time. Im just wondering does it matter if your on a period or not when being seen at the breast clinic.

I think that's screening advice if you suffer from tender breasts around the time of your period. If you don't then I'm sure you'll be fine.

That's secondhand though, so hopefully you'll get better advice.
