Guilt… Finger nail scratch toddler face

Posting on here for traffic <3

Has anyone accidentally scratched their toddler and found the mark persisted for a little while? Like… weeks or months? It scabbed and healed quickly but there is a faint but still very noticeable mark which makes me think it’s going to scar? Any advice appreciated… won’t be getting my nails done again in a while!! feel so guilty for DD xx

Sorry to hear that you went through that, and I really hope your little one has healed up okay!
I have done exactly the same thing to my 6 month old, and honestly feel overwhelmed with guilt every single day when I look at my gorgeous little girls marked face.
It has been 4 weeks and the nail mark is still very obvious and still quite pink. Pictures attached of day after scratch and 4 weeks later.
How has your little one’s scratch healed? Would you mind sharing a before and after pic? (Completely understand if not.)
I am preparing myself that a scar is inevitable now, but desperately hoping not.
So hard to come to terms with :(
xx

It happens. Don’t feel guilty x

I’m so sorry, I did this to my little one, it bled an enormous amount and I was sure it would scar. He’s now 7 and I can’t see anything, can’t even remember where it was :)

BTW I’ve never had my nails done and keep them really short, so don’t let it stop you getting your nails done! These freak things can just happen :(

Looks like this is a ghost thread and the mark will probably have sorted itself by now.

My brother gave me such a scratch when I was a baby. The scar stayed most of my early years but you can't see any evidence of it joe- probably since I was about 12 there was no trace of it. The early years it was just an indentation of a scratch, no colour.
