Urgent please Air traffic control offered indirect flight

We’re away and have been offered an alternative flight home.
it’s an indirect flight so they offer a hotel at first airport and then another flight.
travelling with kids, is a nightmare and prefer direct flights
have hotel here so ok to wait.
does anyone know our rights, can we insist on direct flight?
am on hold to easyJet holidays atm

Have you tried asking them yet? Just reply saying that as far as you understood it, you have been offered and had accepted the later flight, so had made arrangements around it. Just ask and see what they say.

@Serenitespring - This. Just try asking and see what they say. They told you your flight would be next Tuesday and you made arrangements at a non-refundable hotel

I would also be tempted to say, that you are happy to stay, where you are due to this, so they can get people who have to be home for whatever reason earlier.

Its 4 seats, so I imagine alot of people would grab at the chance to get them

I’d grab the seats on the non-direct and get back, but that’s me being me…

If the hotel booking until Tuesday was all that was available I can just about see Easyjet might pay for that, on the basis it was non-refundable and perhaps all that was available etc.

OTOH be interesting to see what their attitude is to covering the incidentals (food etc) for a voluntarily extended stay.
