moths in holiday house worried about bringing them home

We're at a holiday house that clearly has clothes/carpet moths. I can see damage in the carpet and I've seen several in the house each evening.

How worried do I need to be that they'll hitch a ride in our bags? Should I wash all our clothes at 60 when we get home?

I'd put any woollens or silk in the freezer for a day or two when I got home. Doubt you have too much wool tbh as it's summer but that's definitely their fave. They ADORE cashmere.

Wash them and you'll be fine. These are more common than you think and chances are even if you've left your window open you'll have had a few fly in.

Dump everything into the wash when you get back, put the bag or suitcase in a binbag if you're worried and store it in the loft etc and you're set. Drawers are your friend. If you're worried, mothballs in wardrobes.

This is such a Mumsnet answer 😆

Do you think I should wash everything at 60?

We had an infestation years ago in a previous property. I hate the bastards

As above, the freezer will kill them off. Anything that can be washed, wash as hot as you can. Keep the bags/ cases in black sacks for a while (unless you have a massive chest freezer they will go in!) and, on a fine day, take them out and clean them really well.
We had an infestation in out kitchen cupboards and it was awful!

Yep, 60 is more than enough. These aren't like bedbugs etc, they die relatively easily.

I would empty my suitcase out in the garden and shake everything out before washing everything.
My mother’s house is infested with clothes moths but they never seem to travel home with me.
