Wedding Gift - Donation to Charity

Getting married next year, been together for almost 20 years. We do not want any gifts or cash, but I am concerned that people will feel obliged to either gift something (we do not need/want) or put money in the card. It does not seem right to donate to charity after the event as some may have chosen not to gift if the gift was not for us. We do have a specific charity in mind. Is there a polite and not presumptuous way to ask to donate directly if people wish to?

Just something generic: We are so happy to share our special day with you all. There is no need to give gifts or include money in a card as we have everything we need. If you would still like to give something, we would appreciate a donation to XXX charity that support hungry kids.
