I’m nearly mid 30s and realised that I need to inject some fun into my life. I’d love to hear about your fun hobbies - stuff that you look forward to doing!

I play musical instruments but it doesn’t really count because I do that for a living…😂

Same age range as you 👋

Kayaking is my new hobby! I live in the Lake District so can get out on the water most weekends. Usually spend two hours out and it's been great for my mental health. It's inflatable so fits in the car easy enough and wasn't too expensive getting everything needed for it.

Martial arts can be fun! I felt old and bored stiff until I gave it a go. Who would have thought I'd be able to kick 7ft in to the air?! Amazing feeling and an easy way to tone your whole body!

This is abit meh but I do look forward to it... I've splurged a little on luxury items. Beautifully scented Laura Mercier body crème, L'occitane shower oil, Wild deodorant (I know, I know, but it just smells amazing!) Etc, etc. Getting into a fresh, clean bed, smelling heavenly and reading a book is the best time of the day sometimes!

Roller derby!

Padel tennis would be my suggestion. Find someone to double with, it’s great fun!

A friend of mine started horse riding. A complete beginner as an adult, but she loves it.

Kayaking sounds amazing! (I’m afraid to try it though as I live on the coast and it’s always windy and regular boat and ferry traffic would stress me out.)

Otherwise I hope this gives the thread a bump because I’m also in the need of ideas.

Horse riding is the main one, what a fabulously fun drain on my money and time that is! I’m very lucky and have my horses at home which does make it easier than going to a yard.
Also surfing (albeit not as much as pre-DC), shooting, pilates (does that count? I enjoy it!) and my husband and I also have a couple of dirt bikes to rag about on when we’re stuck for something to do. We’ve bought our toddler son a little electric quad bike for his first birthday last year so working our way up to getting him his own wee petrol bike!

Kayaking is amazing. i love it.

I genuinely enjoy bootcamp. Getting sweaty and muddy in the open air, all seasons, working out hard and feeling fit and a great sense of camaraderie with everyone.
