First school Teddy bear picnic help!

Hi all

My DD is starting reception next week & tomorrow afternoon there's a teddy bear picnic organised by the school.
I've never been to one before. But wondering if it's just for reception starters or the entire school?
Is it worth going? I'll have to take time off work and pick her up from my mums to go with her if you say it's worth attending. Not sure what to expect. Help!
Tia xxxx

Nobody will be able to answer this. Every school is different. Most schools won't even do this and those that do will all be different.

DS is starting reception too and he had one in July. It was only the reception children and it was basically so they can get used to their new classroom/teacher. I would imagine it's only for reception to help them settle in. I've never heard of a whole school one (I'm a primary teacher).

It is normally only for the reception children to meet classmates and the teacher etc...... in a fun more relaxed environment with a Teddy from home to help relax and reassure them. Personally I would attend as it is good for the children.

It's normally just reception. I would take her if you can as she'd meet her new class mates and teacher b

Our school did one. Just reception. I'd go so you can talk to the teachers, meet other parents, make sure you're included in the WhatsApp groups

I would think it’s just the new reception children. Would your mum not take her?
