Best mobile phone for battery life

Help! I need your recommendations, please! I need to get a new phone to replace my old Moto G4. I've Googled myself into a heap and am now more confused than ever.

Battery life is the main concern. I'm not using it for gaming, shooting videos or taking lots of photos. It's mainly for checking and answering work emails, Googling things, doing Scan & Shop in M&S, the odd text and phone call, and listening to books on audible.

I want something reliable that doesn't need charging up every few hours. I don't really want a huge cumbersome handset (my current one is 6 inches and I don't want anything too much bigger than that if possible).

Price-wise, I'm not sure. I'd rather spend out on the right phone than go cheaper and regret it. Although the £1,000 price tag on the iPhones seems excessive. What have you got and what do you think I should look at or avoid?

Thank you all.

I've an iphone 14 and find the battery really good. I also bought the fast charger so it can do a full charge in like 30 mins.

Thanks @felisha54 I'm looking at that one now on Argos. You have the 14 rather than the 14 Pro or Plus?

There's newer Motorolas that might suit you. I had a G7 power that lasted 2 days. Its probably been superceded by G8/9/10 Power now but likely the same deal.

Then you can buy something more interesting with the £7/800 saved by not spending £1k on an iPhone.

Any thoughts on the Sony Xperia 10 V 5G 128GB?

I’ve just replaced my Moto 8. Battery life excellent for first year. Still acceptable after 3 years. But without doubt it’s the crappiest phone I’ve had in other regards. Awful camera, terrible sound quality, hard to do basic functions - turn it on to fully silent, getting notifications to reliably show up on WhatsApp. I’ve gone back to an iPhone SE and it’s bliss. But battery life not great though it does charge up quickly.

Can't get better than Motorola IME, I always end up with them, love the fact you can drop them too and the screen doesn't break.

I have a Moto G9 power, had it since pre Covid and still going strong ,heavy user and battery life is fantastic. Camera is shite though, preferred my previous Moto's camera .

I have a one plus Nord and battery life is still 24 hours after a year. Also does rapid charging.

I've got a Nokia 8.1. Battery life excellent, camera ditto. When I need to replace it it'll be another Nokia.

I have this phone. I love it and would say the battery is pretty good. Obviously depends on what you are using it for.

Thanks @Kittykat2014 I'm tempted by the Xperia 10 v but I'm confused about charging as there's no cable or charger supplied when you buy it. What do you use? Would the Juice charger from Argos work do you think? https://www.argos.co.uk/product/4337937?clickSR=slp:term:belking%20wall%20charger:1:18:1
