Question re Alexa for kids/Amazon Music Unlimited Family

Thinking about getting an Alexa for my 10-yr old - is there any point getting the kids version or should we just go with a standard Dot?

If we upgrade to Amazon Music Unlimited Family then it seems she can play whatever music she wants on there and listen to podcasts.

Does anyone know if she'd be able to listen to audiobooks from my Audible account on there? I guess so, if it's connected to my phone.

My only other query is about parental controls/age-appropriateness - I guess the Kids version is set up for this but looking at the Alexa app, it looks as though I can enable Amazon Kids on a normal Alexa, if that's what we go for, and then control it that way. We don't have an Amazon Kids+ subscription but she does have a child profile set up for the Kindle.im waffling really but anyone who's done this successfully, please let me know!! Thanks.

Our kids just have regular Echos, and yes, the family music subscription means everyone can play difference stuff on their device.

You can just stream Audible through the Echo too.

The only real parental controls we have are explicit filter and turning off buying through Alexa!

Thanks @Scotinoz - to be honest I think those are the only controls I'd need for now (might be naive of me 😄).
