DH's best friend who is very high up in a large tech company in the US. Their house is amazing. He's very down to earth though.

The parents of two friends - both sets of parents are multimillionaires, one in the tens the other I think in the hundred millions. You’d never guess with either of my friends, though.

I don't know any rich people. I was once acquainted with someone who'd won the lottery (£5m) and someone who came from family wealth but that's all. It's why I'm surprised at all the money people (allegedly) have on here because I just never encounter it myself.

My rich relatives probably each know hundreds of people so it's not that surprising.

Landlords. I used to know a couple, my own and someone I worked with, who both owned multiple properties, in a time and place when most working people can’t afford one, for themselves. One spent the rest of his time entirely in leisure, the other worked 2 days a week largely for fun. Both baby boomers, as most private landlords were until they started handing property over to children. Imagine being rich enough to hand a house over to your kids and never miss it.

I know one multi millionaire tech entrepreneur. He's been very wealthy since his mid 20's, mid 50's now. He has always worked incredibly hard and obsessively. I would have given up work and be living the life of Riley by now!

A few millionaires as acquaintances only, but we would be talking mid single figures I guess, only a couple are "famous" and it was in the 70s so not really known now.

Personally, it would be my father in law. £3m and I only know that because he was recently suicidal and sent all the will paperwork to immediate family.

My friend recently divorced. Got 6 million quid! Never worked a day since she was 21 and got married. Also got the house, and £1000 a month maintenance until her kid turns 21 in three years.

Yes, generally multi millionaires and worth cos they’ve built business’ and sold them or some continue to run them. From inventions to hotel chains. All nice enough people, we’re all human at the end of the day!

My friend sold her company for a few million around 2000. They invested in a large house and the stock market and I suspect have much more by now.
Another friend inherited a fortune as an only child in the family so her grandparents/two lots of childless aunts and uncles and her parents left her their houses and money. Her DH has a successful business as well.
My dniece married into a wealthy family and were given a £500k house as a wedding present. They rent out the one they already had.
They're lovely but they certainly don't live frugally nice cars, lots of holidays, horses etc.
As for us we're probably the wealthiest in our family/siblings mainly through investing in property.

I have met lots of HNW individuals through work. Own oil fields and fly by private jet kind of rich. You wouldn't have a clue if you met them randomly in most cases. Lots of them are really quite tight and quibble over/don't pay even really small bills, which is annoying.

I know. The richest person I knew was the daughter of a millionaire at uni. Dcs have met similarly rich students ( or rather their parents are rich) at uni too.

family friends and no I cannot , but I imagine a few hundred bored millions since they bought several holiday homes in the last few years with money being transferred in less than 24 hours and a complete sale very fast , so no mortgage for over 15 millions in total

I don't know any rich people. I know a few people who are maybe on 6 figures and live a lovely lifestyle (not an expensive area).

I know two and since both are on the Sunday Times "Rich List" I can guess pretty well.

Ex boyfriend. I just looked up his personal net worth and it’s $200m. His family is worth many billions though. Really lovely guy too.

Acquaintance from my teens is now one of the worlds richest women. Also lovely. Doubt she would remember me.

Someone I know is very wealthy, yes. And no, I don't tell people I know them. Their close friend (who I've never met) is even richer and is on the Sunday Times Rich List this year. Both of them are household names.

I know quite a few millionaires. I mean surely everyone does? One or two I knocked about with years ago on our council estate. All WC roots as I don’t know that many MC people. I’m sure If I know some millionaires we all do 🤣.
