What mundane idiosyncrasies does your relationship have?

Inspired by my DP just digging through his packet of crisps to find me all the folded-over ones. They're the whole point of crisps, for me – the ones that are folded in half. He now passes them to me without even thinking.

Similarly, if anything needs clingfilming in our house, I'll do it. Pulling the film off the roll and cutting it on the box blade sends DP up the wall – he ends up furious, sweating, and with the clingfilm all in knots. Hugely capable in every other way, but clingfilm is his Krypotonite, so we don't even talk about it any more.

What weird little habits have you developed in your relationship that are unique to you?

I don’t like the feel of raw chicken so quite often he will prepare the chicken for me the night before so it’s ready for me the next day (I get home first so cook during the week). If we have anything that has a crisp to it, like potato wedges or macaroni with a cheese top I always make sure he gets the darkest, crispiest bits as they’re his favourites. I’m sure there are lots of things we do without thinking but these are the ones that came to mind - not very exciting 😂

Dh always buys red pesto instead of passata or tinned tomatoes as he knows how much I hate them.

He buys me crinkled chips not fries or chunky wedges as he knows they are the only ones I’ll eat.

He writes everything on the calendar that’s he’s doing.

When I put away his shirts I keep them colour coordinated and in his sections I.e ‘home shirt’ then ‘work shirt’ then ‘coroners/funeral shirt’ etc.

I’m diagnosed autistic and he is suspected. This is only scratching the surface…

My partner can't stand the feel of handling raw meat of any kind, so if we are cooking together (often) then without thinking I'll do the meat and he does the veggies. If he's cooking on his own then it's a veggie meal or he'll use frozen meat.
