I live in a big council estate and there are loads of pathways, alleys and roads that run through the estate and through different parts of the town if that makes any sense. Is there a google maps equivalent but for walking, to find the quickest routes

On Google maps there is a pedestrian option which works really well.

There's an app called Footpath I think. You can draw a rough route between two locations and it'll find the most direct footpath route for you

Or have a look at Open Street Map.

On Google Maps look for layers and then choose the one you want (google how to do this if you don't know). The paths should show up in any case though.

Put in your destination and where you're leaving from then click the little walking person.

At the top when you select directions, you can choose car, bike, walk, public transport etc...

Mapometer is pretty good. Can be used for running or walking. Shows lots of shortcuts.
