Starting new job

I'm starting a new job soon and I am very nervous. I suffer from GAD (diagnosed) and I often catastrophise every small thing. I'm worried about making a good impression, wearing the right clothes (the dress code is smart-casual) and even finding a parking space and not making myself late (I will leave in good time but the thoughts won't go away).

Any advice or words of encouragement, please?

You'll be fine! You'll find a new routine in no time. On your first day give yourself time to get there and find a nice parking spot. All you need to do is introduce yourself when you arrive and let your new colleagues settle you in. You just need to know where your desk/base is, where the loo is and the kitchen for drinks. The rest they will tell you in good time. You don't need to worry about making a good impression - you already did that at the interview.

Well done on the new job. You've got this and your future self will figure the rest out. I stated a new job 10 months ago after 14 years in my last role. Give yourself a good 6 months for everything to be familiar x
