I did a car boot sale this morning for the first time in years - was good fun and we made about £50 profit selling stuff we need to get rid of to empty the loft. I'm going to do another next weekend and then we'll give any left to charity.
I felt like it was a bit different to how I remember - people selling things like clothes and bags that they wouldn't let go for less than £20, brand new stuff they wanted a good price for. Baby clothes like vests for £1 per item and paperbacks for £2 each.
I always see car boot sales as being a couple of rungs down from a charity shop. Is this the norm now? Or just my experience today? I sold a few things for a pound or two but mostly 20p here 50p there.
