What could this be?

I’m stumped. It’s been happening for a couple of days now. I ache all over. My legs ache. My stomach aches. My arms ache. It hurts to bend my stomach, legs and arms.

I have really sore ulcers on my tongue.

I feel disconnected in my head. Like I’m not really here.

I don’t feel physically unwell, and I haven’t done any extra exercise or anything that could have caused this.

My husband isn’t well either. He reckons it’s likely to be a new strain of covid.

Luckily my kids are ok

Have you done a lateral flow test to see if it is actually covid? Could be pretty much any kind of cold or flu bug or virus.

Hellocatshome · 27/08/2023 12:34

Sounds like a virus. Rest, fluids and wait it out. BUT I am not a Doctor

Soubriquet · 27/08/2023 12:35

No. We don’t have any tests in the house and we can’t really afford to buy any anyway.

Guess it’s just a wait and see how it goes. Again.

I saw lateral flow teats for £1.70 yesterday in boots. Obviously it's all relative but testing one person and getting a positive result would be an answer.

I'd probably suspect covid, or a virus - it sounds as though you're coming down with one. Rest up and lots of fluids OP, hopefully it passes quickly.

I’ve got covid. Had a few LF tests left.

I had the omicron variant almost 2 years ago and this feels very different.

Today I have

Headache. Feels like a weight pressing down and makes me dizzy/woozy.

Temp of 38 (down to 37 with paracetamol).

Chalky taste in my mouth that makes everything taste horrid (luckily I also have no appetite).

Most notable is really achy legs.

Not particularly sleepy but feel sick and woozy when I sit or stand so stuck in bed (hence posting here).

Mild cough.

(Omicron was a very sore throat and a raging fever but I slept for 3 days and felt fine after).

Everyone around me is fine but my DD had a vomiting/fever thing last week (didn’t test her as no cough or sore throat).

Do you have a neighbourhood whatsapp or FB group? Someone might be willing to stuff a spare lateral flow test through your letter box (I would, but obvs I’m now confined to the house)!
