Missed jury service

I'm away from my registered address a lot but go back every few weeks to collect post etc. Today's visit and post collection has included a letter telling me to attend jury service - in June.

I'm panicking that I've missed attending to carry out my duty but I'm also not sure I could attend anyway due to a long term illness (ME).

What on earth do I do?

Get in touch with number on the letter tell them what happened and give them your availability

I presume they'll be closed until Tuesday?

Just call on Tuesday and explain. In sure it’ll be ok.

I once didn’t go - I asked to excused and was told no (I have autism and my youngest was only a few months old) so I just didn’t go and nothing happened

I’m sure it happens all the time, just call them on Tuesday and explain.

I'll go - I'm just not sure I'd be able to give full concentration with the crushing fatigue of ME.

Same happened to me, no come back at all.

They've waited this long, I don't think it'll matter waiting a few more days until Tuesday.

These things happen, no big deal. Just explain.

Well you've just recieved the letter.... so tell them that.

However, if you've only just got a letter from June, can you set up a postal redirection to your current address? Or are you not at another static address? Also, is your house insurance with the house being empty for so long? We had to have a visit every week when ours was empty for more than 30 days.

The property isn't empty @CatsOnTheChair but it's a good idea to set up a postal redirection. I'll get that sorted on Tuesday too.
