Engagement ring replacement

So this feels like a really sad situation for me but I appreciate it is a very privileged issue. I'm looking for advice on what to do.

My engagement had lost a diamond. It's made up of 9 tiny diamonds and is white gold.

Dh bought the ring for me about 9 years ago. It wasn't a hugely romantic proposal but it was perfect for him and I. The ring cost about £150 9 years ago. Dh and I happily married with two young children.

When ds was about 4 months old (he's now nearly 5), two of the diamonds fell out of the ring. We couldn't afford to get it repaired until around a year ago when it cost us £150 for the repair so the same as the ring cost. I was so pleased to have it back on my finger and wear it daily again.

This afternoon I've noticed a diamond missing. I'm devastated. Like I say the ring isn't anything spectacular but it's very sentimental. However if it's going to keep loosing stones out of it I won't feel confident repairing it and begrudge paying more than the ring cost to repair it over and over.

But the story of our engagement is so sweet to me and hold a special place in my heart and this ring is at the center of it.
Dh and I don't have masses of money to pay for it to be melted down or made into something else.
Do I cut my losses and put it in a box and hope for a new one? Do I go for repair again? Or stop being grabby and be greatful I've got a wonderful marriage and two lovely kids?
Be kind please!

Aww this is a tough one. Engagement rings are about so much more than the ring itself and it means the world to you. Personally, I would take it to a Jeweller and ask how much to replace the diamond and to check the other diamonds to make sure the little claws are okay and still holding the stones tightly.

My engagement ring is very sentimental to me too but it turned out a few of the little claws had been damaged and the stones were becoming loose. it was expensive to fix the claws but not as expensive as replacing the diamonds.
