NHS secondment query

I’ve been in a secondment in the NHS for 2 1/2 years and have been told by my manager that I have done a really good job and won’t be returning to my old post. I’ve also got a development plan in place which was done at my last appraisal so that I can get the skills needed to reach a higher band.

However, despite all this I’m still technically in a secondment. I have been told that after 2 years in a post it becomes substantive but I’m unsure if this is the case. I also believe that my original post that I was seconded from has been filled by someone else permanently. I just wondered if anyone had been in a similar situation and would know what rights I would have should my position change

i have been in a secondment for 28 months in the nhs, they have appointed someone new in the post and told me to go back to my substantive post. Anyone knows what my rights are?
