Anyone work as a contactor or decorator? Wondering what to do here.
There's one handyman/decorator in my town who has already done some work in my home. I'm really happy with him, nice person, all good.
He was meant to do one smallish job for me (about 4 hours work) about a month ago, but had an injury. He'd already bought the material. I had paid him up front for labour and material. He was very apologetic about injury and of course I said no problem etc., no rush. The room is still technically usable just unfinished. It's not a job I can do on my own.
However I'd like to get the room finished because will have some guests later this autumn.
WWYD? It's not his fault he's injured. At the same time, surely someone else could do the actual work? (Would his insurance cover that, I'm guessing?) At what point would I start discussing alternatives?
