Please help me MN! Have the dress up for Rocky Horror

... and I don't own fishnet tights, a black skirt or high heels. Nor anything with sequins or glitter.

I'm stuffed, aren't I? Going to stand out as the bad sport spoiling the fun . Please, any ideas for how to show I at least made an effort?

do you have any normal tights at all? you could cut some holes in them just to make them a bit shabby. wear a blouse if you've got one, any skirt you have will be fine 🙂

Then just go crazy with the hairspray and eye make up and some red lippy! you'll be fine! xx

Just go for the 'weekend punk' look: lots of eyeliner, a bit of backcombing, rip a white t-shirt, old jeans, any bangles you might have et voilà !

Can you go in a black tie and sunglasses (a la Biggins?).

Have a great time, saw it live nearly 30yrs ago and it was a blast!

Go and whizz round the charity shops for something you can wear?

Magenta is a maid, which should be a little black dress plus accessories rather than Anne Summers maid
Leather jacket & jeans for Eddy
Or there is the option of sci fi style

With any of those if you stand out then you would be standing out as someone who knows Rocky horror

Go as Janet at the start of the film, or in a white lab coat.

If you need to keep it simple - Black longline jacket, or dinner jacket if you find one, white shirt (untucked) or/and a waistcoat, skinny black jeans. Or Green Scrubs as operating theatre style, or you could just chuck a white lab coat over an normal outfit (done that myself in the past). Add a feather boa as well!
Have been to Rocky Horror many many times. Last time we went there was all manner of fancy dress, from the die hard fans as Frank'n'Furter to Moulin Rouge type outfits. Just enjoy it and remember it's just a jump to the left....... 😊

though my favourite outfit is full Frank—n—furter underwear with surgeons mask and gown over the top.

I saw Rocky horror a few months ago and I think 25% of people have dressed up in some way, even just a fishnet gloves and the rest of us. We're just dress very nicely from any of that meant Goffs had their best off on lots of 50s rockabilly, my husband just had his usual jeans and a T-shirt.

I did this at uni in the 1980s. Black clothes, back-combed big hair, LOTS of makeup.

I'd go as Magenta. That's an easy one.

I wore a sparkly sequin top I found in a charity shop and leggings.
If you have any party shops near where you live you could probably get a whole pile of sparkly top hats and fishnet gloves/tights. The shops like Poundland have also started to sell Halloween stuff so you can improvise with some bits from there l. Oh and Claires Accessories.
To be honest - if you don't manage to dress up you will still have THE BEST TIME EVER because it's fricking awesome. Seen it twice last year and once this year.

Ive been doing Rocky horror dress up since I was 15. Last one I went too i wanted to go a bit more low key so bought this top off amazon. Wore it with leather leggings and sparkly platforms. Could just as easy wear it with tight jeans/leggings and boots. Thank you all again. I took all these to heart and ended up with a combination of black and white, glitter, big hair and vast amounts of makeup.

Was such fun!!!! What a fantastic show it is.
