Has anybody been to the Foodies Festival?

We have tickets for this Sunday. I think I read somewhere that Sophie Ellis-Bexter (the real reason we are going) is on stage at 7.30 (can’t find it now as the website seems so vague!), but the cooking demonstrations etc seem to finish a lot earlier.

We don’t want to be standing around for ages with nothing to do. Do we go later and miss the cookery etc (not so fussed about that) and hope that there are still food stalls open?

Any advice gratefully received!

The one we went to had other music acts playing up to the “main” act , so between getting something to eat for dinner after the food tents finished , listening to other bands and having a mooch around the stalls we found enough to keep us busy .

@Theraffarian thanks so much. So what time would you suggest we get there? I’m not sure the forecast is great for Sunday and don’t want to be hanging around too long.

We got to ours when it opened , had free tickets , so didn’t actually expect to stay too long , but the afternoon just vanished , met up with friends and family and were really lucky with the weather . However if you aren’t that bothered by the food demos then I would say that took up most of our time , there was two running at any given time , and we ended up moving from one to the other . If you want to try the food , then sit at the front as most didn’t have enough for everyone , apart from the end of the show show , which gave out everything that had been cooked all day . Other people we know just arrived near the end for the main act , think you’ve got luckier with the Sophie night , as Five were rather lacklustre, and we preferred the bands that had been on prior to them.

I went to one this year and the weather was awful and they ended up bringing the main act on early !
