Yodel collection code issue

So, got a parcel delivered to a shop today but the shop won't release it because Yodel haven't sent me a collection code. The vinted app shows the parcel has been delivered, it has my name on and I have ID. But shop won't release it without the code and yodel are uncontactable.

Anyone else had this today?

Not today but last week. They did release it as I had others and knew me but was very odd, no bar code I had worked at all for this one item. Strange.

Did they give you the parcel? The shop are holding mine hostage, despite me having ID that matches the name on the parcel, a receipt etc

They did as I could show them all the info on my phone from vinted. Plus I'm a regular customer so there was some trust there too. They said they were going to speak to yodel directly to work it out and my vinted was updated with 'delivered' pretty soon after.

I don't know what to suggest for you but it seems pretty harsh that they're not letting you have the parcel and then looking behind the scenes.

I had it a couple of days ago too, yodel from vinted, the shop keeper just took pictures of the code from my text message and pictures of the parcel and the code on it. He did give me the parcel.

I feel really angry about it - I've paid for it, I can prove it's mine, but the shop are keeping hold of it. Just because it was delivered there, it doesn't make it theirs to withhold!

Go on Yodels online chat. They are usually very helpful.

I've got a similar problem. I've got a collection code but the shop are saying my parcel isn't there. It was scanned in to the shop.

@Zingy123 just tried the chat. Been given a code, but they said to leave collection until tomorrow or Monday as they are having issues at their end.
Thank you for the suggestion - I'd tried phoning but not messaging. Hopefully this will work out!

i have stopped using this now as i never received the code and had to beg for my parcels, i pay extra to have delivered to home.

I have my parcels now - the yodel chat did the trick and the collection codes worked, so thanks again.

I had this a couple of months ago, it actually hadn't arrived in the shop, the driver had marked it as delivered there but hadn't delivered it. It did turn up a few days later.

I have the same problem. I’ve had an email from Yodel saying my parcel has been delivered from Vinted to the local Co-op. Vinted app also says delivered and ready for collection but there is no parcel at the shop! I contacted Yodel on the web chat and they said they’d investigate and get back to me in 24 hours but haven’t! I hope it turns up!! I have made Vinted aware of the situation for what it’s worth 😕

Vinted can be very slow to respond. I don't know how a parcel can be missing but say delivered on the app because it is supposed to be scanned at every stage. Do you think the shop has maybe misplaced it? Or didn't look properly?

I had the opposite. I tried to send a parcel via Yodel and the shop scanner refused to acknowledge the barcode, resulting in a lost sale.
I refuse to use them now.
Inpost has had some issues lately. I ordered an item to be delivered to the inpost box. It got as far as the box, then got returned to sender.
Apparently that's resolved now, but still!

Hmm I did wonder if the shop had misplaced it but I could see in their cupboard that there weren’t many parcels but who knows really. My gut feeling is that the issue is with Yodel 😕

I think the driver has probably marked it as delivered to the shop, but hasn't actually delivered it. Yodel really are useless now, worse than evri/hermes

I've sent one that's gone missing with yodel too via eBay packlink. Says delivered but no photo evidence and courier 'doesn't know' where he put it.
Doesn't help me much with the £40 claim from the buyer. So difficult to get help from anyone.

I use yodel a lot and this is the first time I've had an issue with them.

I've had proof of delivery from yodel now so the buyer is claiming it must have been stolen and still wants a refund.

At least yodel did deliver it, just to a stupid place where it could just be picked up by anyone walking past.

If yodel haven't delivered it to you or have just left it visible on a public street then I wouldn't accept that it's been delivered. Both you and the seller should be refunded.

@LadyBird1973 EBay have sorted it now. They refunded the buyer and let me keep my money.

But now I can't get rid of any parcels I need to send. My local store reckons the system is down and the other 2 closest stores refused to take them as they had 'too many already' 😑.
No idea what's going on with yodel at the moment but it keeps getting worse.
