Any regular Edinburgh Fringe goers? What did you think of the vibe?

I've been going to the Fringe for years, obviously with the exception of the civil years. I was up there last week and everything seemed flat. There didn't seem to be the same buzz as other years. A lot ofrestaurants were empty at peak times. There wasn't as many street performers or people handling out flyers.
Did anyone else notice?

I thought they had asked the flyers to stop - but I still ended up with a fist full most days!

Would agree that the restaurants were quieter than I've seen previously.
General atmosphere was good while I was there, most of the key fringe venues where packed out.

Ive not been since pre covid but have a friend who performs every year, a lot of noise was made this year about the cost of accommodation being so prohibitive people weren’t going

I didn't know that. I got handed one in the day time and a few were handed out on Nidry Street late at night but nothing like previous years.

I could be mistaken - and there were still plenty being handed out. But I thought they were making an eco gesture and asking people to consider not giving our flyers.

Definitely quieter! Last year was much busier, although we did have better weather ☀️
