Can I ask for family holiday booking advice?

We have three teens and two small ones (1 and 4) and we’re considering taking the plunge and going abroad for the first time next summer, and I haven’t a clue where to start. We’ve had a challenging few years and have never taken the older ones abroad, so I really really want this to go well.

Last went abroad about 7 years ago with just DH and booking it was so stressful, we opted for flights and hotel as an inclusive package but found that when we tried to book online through various companies the prices weren’t honoured, you’d try to pay and then get phone calls from the company saying they couldn’t do that package but how about these dates instead…. It was horrendous!

Wish list is:

  • ideally all inclusive
  • ideally apartment style accommodation rather than hotel rooms
  • accommodation doesn’t need to be fancy, but we can’t deal with cramped
  • swimming (good snorkelling would be awesome)
  • hot

We can live with a few hours flight. We don’t have a budget in mind as we have no clue what this will cost, so if it turns out to be unaffordable we’ll have to rethink.

I’d rather do a package for flights and accommodation, but open to splitting if worth it.

I’d be ever so grateful if you could hit me with recommendations for travel websites / places / any general advice

TIA!
