How to get to London on Saturday?

I have tickets for the Globe on Saturday but just realised there’s a train strike. How on earth can I get to London Bridge area from Kent / Sussex?

DD and I were so looking forward to it. I’m gutted.

Travel up tomorrow night and stay over in a cheap(ish, I realise it's a bank holiday) hotel?

Are you sure trains are not running at all? On most strike days there is a reduced service on at least some lines. I'm on the Oxted line which sometimes shuts down entirely, but the Brighton line still runs a couple of trains an hour (down from its usual 8 in peak hours).

Coach to Victoria.
Then district line to mansion House

Though check if tubes are affected?

SunnySomer · 24/08/2023 21:27

Can you get a bus to somewhere like Bromley then London bus from there?

Theyweretheworstoftimes · 24/08/2023 21:27

Drive to the end of a tube line, book a driveway via Just park App.

Problem solved.

Don't think there are tube strikes this weekend.

Thank you! They’re not running at all on my usual line and I panicked, but I can see that I can get a train from East Grinstead which should work.

I'm on the same line and trains back are stopping quite early in the evening so check out if you can get back if you have an evening performance

Peony654 · 24/08/2023 21:48

Drive somewhere with TFL services like Overground assuming they’re running as normal. For example Sydenham, should have free parking in that area.

LIZS · 24/08/2023 21:54

Some lines are running a limited service between 7:30am and 5:30pm or c9:00pm for key stations like Gatwick.

Luckily it’s the 2pm performance!

Tram to Wimbledon then district line? If you can get to Croydon or New Addington? Thats what we do during strikes.
