Taylor swift tickets- legitimate?

Would be seriously grateful for advice...

Are any private sales acceptable? A lady is selling 2 tickets for one date, asking sensible money, has posted on a local selling site on Facebook. Her Facebook account appears legit, posts going back years with pics etc.

Is this allowed?

The ticket agents are saying they'll cancel any tickets not resold through their sites but no idea if they actually will.

God. She's asking 250 each, I'm so conflicted!

No you can only buy resale through AXS or ticketmaster. You can't transfer tickets yet through either of those platforms (unless you sell tickets) so anyone trying to sell privately is probably dodgy!

She's offering to sell them to via ticketmaster account to ticketmaster account?

I thought the only way to sell was to sell them back to Ticketmaster or AXS who then sell on. So you can't sell to someone particular that way, you are just selling them back to be resold to whoever gets there first. Could be wrong but I thought that was the way it worked, in which case don't give her any money!
I suspect nearer the time plenty of resale tickets will become available and buying via the platforms means the price will be capped, unlike in the US

Jonsnowsghost · 24/08/2023 21:39

I'm pretty sure you can't do that yet, I think you can much closer to the dates but to be honest it doesn't sound legit.
I paid less than £250 per ticket for good seats, and resale on AXS doesn't let you charge more than 10% of what you originally paid for the ticket.

MercyNursey · 24/08/2023 21:42

Honestly it’s not worth the risk. There’s no reason for her to be selling them on Facebook, she could list them on ticketmaster/axs (the only place she could have got them from and the only place she can resell them legitimately)
and they’d be sold within a minute. You can’t transfer tickets yet so if you bought them and transferred her the money you’d have wait until next year when she can transfer you the tickets

Mumsanetta · 24/08/2023 21:43

Technically, resale is via AXS or Ticketmaster only. I would be suspicious of her not wanting to sell via legitimate channels. Technically, you can buy from her but you will then be relying on her transferring the ticket to you via the app.

Mumsanetta · 24/08/2023 21:44

Keep looking on AXS and Ticketmaster. I managed to get VIP tickets for £350 a few weeks ago. If you only want one ticket you should be able to find one if you keep checking.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 24/08/2023 21:48

We want 2, I spotted one single ticket but I'd feel bad doing it without DH!

Became very clear it was a scam.
