Has anyone played it? Is it worth it? Is it still turn-based? (I like turn-based).

Not played it, but unfortunately I have not heard good things about it. Which is too bad because Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 were wonderful.

DinosaurOfFire · 24/08/2023 13:18

In contrast the the PP, I have only heard good things about it from friends who have played. I haven't played it yet but will be at some point- I've got a few other games to work through first.

Thanks both - I might try it over the weekend.

I'm playing it, it is turn based, I'm liking it a lot so far, the story and characters seem interesting. I started off playing a wizard, which is my usual go to for this type of game. But wasn't feeling it at all. I hadn't got very far yet, so I restarted it with a Ranger and a different species. Enjoying it much more.

Tarantallegra · 25/08/2023 18:34

Haven't played much yet but so far I absolutely love it! I play d&d but with a 2 year old and a 6 month old actually getting together with people to play is not happening so this is filling the d&d hole in my heart.

BertieBotts · 25/08/2023 18:36

Yes, it's great! We love it, playing in a group of 4 with another couple. It's quite pricey though so maybe worth waiting for a sale.

Have you played divinity os2? That one's really good as well.

changer2010 · 25/08/2023 18:55

I miss playing d&d with friends too! I haven't played divinity os2, I'll add it to my list.

My DH says it's amazing. And yes it's turn based.

ISaySteadyOn · 25/08/2023 19:20

Wow, I am another who misses DnD too. Though there is definitely hope. I ran a starting scenario for a friend and her sons and my DD. She loved it and now wants to play more.

I will have to look into BG3 more given how many of you like it!

underneaththeash · 25/08/2023 19:29

I quite like it, I don’t have a massive amount of time to play though!

Dreamingofbeergardens · 25/08/2023 19:45

My DP and I bought it when the early access came out so we have finished Act 1. We're away atm so my DP hasn't been able to start Act 2 (much to his frustration!) But our friends have said that Act 2 is great and they are enjoying it!
I've enjoyed playing as a sorcerer then a ranger.

Shallana · 03/09/2023 23:03

The combat is turn based, but the rest of the gameplay is open world. It's absolutely huge, I'm six hours in and feel like I've barely scratched the surface. Really enjoying it!

changer2010 · 04/09/2023 11:42

I'm really enjoying it too!

My friend is playing and loving it. Is it suitable for a newbie to DND type games?

BertieBotts · 04/09/2023 12:36

Yes I'd say so, especially if you're playing online with your friend.

SquirrelSoShiny · 04/09/2023 15:00

Great thanks! I told him he has to keep me alive 😂

Clefable · 04/09/2023 15:03

DH has just finished it after many many hours! He really enjoyed it. It's not my style of game but I think if it's your style of game, it's a very enjoyable one.
