Wanted to purchase some red docs but can't find any.

Thinking it will be too hot to wear a duffle coat.

In need of inspiration.

Only have till Monday.

Any ideas MNers?

Red or black floppy hat depending on whether inspiration is the film or tv. Blue cardi even better if the can sew toggles on it. Small Paddington brief case style lunch box. Bear face paints. Furry hands if you can.

I noticed our Tesco had Paddington fancy dress outfits the other week that might be an option as I'm not sure you can really get the Paddington look without a duffle coat.

I'm used to making things on small budgets, but it takes time, however it's good for children learning stuff.

Can you get a suitable hat? A rain-hat painted with acrylic paint (removable) might be the answer.
Dye and fabric markers on a long white long sleeved T shirt to make stitches and pockets. Real toggle buttons for extra effect.
Paint wellies red with acrylic (removable)

Paper covered corrugated cardboard sandwich on a string attached.
Small case if possible, but can be made from cardboard.
Make a 3D paper mask, or face paint.

For the boots, some red wellies would work. Stick some little ears onto the hat and do a blue zip-up hoody.

Swearwolf · 24/08/2023 12:42

Don't forget the luggage label for around the neck saying please look after this bear!

Thank you both for the suggestions!

Love these ideas. ☺️ off to hobby craft soon! Will Post some pics if all goes well

I quickly searched Vinted and there’s a Paddington costume on there for age 6. I have it for my 3 year old and it’s super cute!

Abi138 · 25/08/2023 18:47

Oh I just read you need it by Monday so my idea is rubbish! Sorry
